As part of the Sustain It Programme, Etijah in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), implemented a comprehensive series of technical and financial capacity-building trainings aimed at strengthening the institutional performance of civil society organizations in Kafr El Sheikh, Assiut, and Cairo.
The trainings targeted community-based organizations (CBOs) participating in the programme and were designed to enhance their ability to plan, implement, and manage development initiatives effectively and sustainably, with a particular focus on solid waste management and circular economy practices.
Financial and Institutional Capacity Building

- Budget preparation and financial resource management
- Procurement cycles and financial reporting
- Asset and inventory management
- Financial planning and institutional sustainability
This training forms part of ongoing efforts to equip partner organizations with the financial knowledge and tools required to successfully implement solid waste management initiatives and manage donor-funded projects efficiently.

Technical Trainings in Kafr El Sheikh
Two technical training sessions were conducted in Kafr El Sheikh, focusing on strengthening both the technical and institutional capacities of participating NGOs. The training courses were tailored to the specific needs of local organizations and emphasized practical skills related to:
- Project planning and implementation
- Administrative and operational systems
- Community engagement and participatory approaches
- Improving internal efficiency and organizational performance
The training relied on interactive learning methodologies, including group discussions allowing participants to exchange experiences, identify common challenges, and develop practical solutions relevant to their local contexts.
By the end of the training, participating organizations demonstrated an improved understanding of effective project management, financial accountability, and community-led development approaches, enabling them to better design and implement inclusive initiatives aligned with sustainable development goals.
