Partner: Strengthening Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) Project

Year of Implementation: 2018- 2019

The Youth Entrepreneurship Network responded to severe economic constraints limiting youth and women’s ability to access or create economic opportunities. The project aimed to raise entrepreneurship awareness and strengthen the capacities of 1,260 young people aged 18–28, prioritizing women (at least 60%), in two governorates (Sohag and Kafr el-Sheikh), to develop community leadership.

Key components included:

  • Establishing two local hubs;
  • Conducting a desk review of the entrepreneurship ecosystem;
  • Delivering a ToT program covering entrepreneurship skills, business management, mentorship, and an entrepreneurship event;
  • Hosting an event to connect participants with youth entrepreneur organizations, investors, and mentors to support idea development into viable, socially impactful businesses.

These interventions sought to create a sustainable network of youth entrepreneurs to coordinate efforts across youth entrepreneurship organizations. Targeted sectors included community development, economic empowerment, and gender equality.
