Sport isn’t just an activity or game, it’s a bridge across divides, a source of hope, and a catalyst for a change, it could shift the potential of many people by breaking down the surrounding barriers, So it’s a universal language, and the “Sports for All” project harnesses it, to transform the lives of vulnerable youth in Greater Cairo. The project was launched in late 2024 in partnership with Secours Catholique Caritas France, and the aim of this project is to provide sports holistic approach for children ages 10-16, especially girls and PWDs, a structured sports activities that engages community shelters and centers. Operating in Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia.

Through these community shelters and centers the project reaches youth who often lack safe recreational spaces. Rather than being a simple game, Sports here are a strategic tool, discovering new strength, unleashing the youth potential through building their skills and confidence, and this aligns with global goals, such as SDG 3 (Good Health), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)

These envisioned advantages go far beyond what sports programs frequently present. They involve improved physical health; reduced stress and symptoms of depression; reinforces confidence and self-esteem; increased mental abilities and academic performance; decreased tendency to smoke and experiment with illegal substances; and decreased involvement in criminal activities. All of these insights are intentionally addressed by “Sports For All” by incorporating these successes into a broader strategic vision that promotes sustained community advancement in accordance with developmental objectives. Additionally, this program provides an answer to one of the most challenging questions: how can social norms be genuinely changed? Interestingly, the girls’ involvement in this program and the respectable progress they have made show that girls can have a right to participate in societal affairs. By normalizing and recognizing girls’ participation as a natural right, this program has successfully made it visible to all and shielded it from any social risks.
