In today’s digital age, entrepreneurship offers significant opportunities for economic empowerment, especially for marginalized communities. Recognizing this potential, Etijah, in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), launched the Digitalize Your Business Programme for Refugees and Host Communities (DYB). This project targets young entrepreneurs in Greater Cairo, equipping them with the skills to harness digital technologies, grow their businesses, and foster sustainable livelihoods.

The DYB Programme focuses on improving digital literacy, enabling entrepreneurs to enhance their livelihoods, scale their operations, and access new opportunities. Through a structured and comprehensive process, the program targets both refugees and members of the host community, bridging economic gaps and building resilience through entrepreneurship.

The DYB Programme is structured to deliver three key outcomes:

  1. Enhancing digital entrepreneurship skills among refugee and host community members in Greater Cairo.
  2. Training no. of entrepreneurs to digitalize their businesses, develop comprehensive digitalization plans, and access complementary support services.
  3. Providing no. of trained participants with post-training business development support to scale and sustain their ventures.

To achieve these outcomes, the program offers a mix of capacity-building sessions, personalized coaching, mentorship, and networking opportunities. The structured phases of the initiative ensure that participants receive hands-on training and follow-up support, enabling them to effectively apply the skills they acquire.

As the DYB Programme moves forward, its emphasis on collaboration, skills development, and entrepreneurship will create lasting economic opportunities for participants, paving the way for resilient and inclusive growth in Greater Cairo.
