Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah, based in Egypt, is proud to announce that it has won the “World’s Leading Sustainable Education & Training Programme” at the 2025 World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards.

This recognition celebrated Etijah’s Employability Project in the Hospitality Sector, a pioneering project that empowered youth from marginalized communities through professional training and decent work opportunities in Egypt’s leading hotels.
The World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance brings together global industry leaders such as Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Accor, and Radisson to advance sustainability and inclusivity within the hospitality sector. The 2025 award category featured four outstanding international nominees from the Netherlands, the United States, South Africa, and Egypt. Etijah proudly emerged as the only NGO from the Middle East and North Africa to win this prestigious global title.
Etijah’s Employability Project in the Hospitality Sector followed a comprehensive four-phase model: soft skills training, practical training, employability support, and job placement. Participants received mentorship, field training in partner hotels, and career guidance designed to bridge the gap between education and industry needs. By the end of the project, Etijah successfully facilitated over 300 employment opportunities, creating tangible pathways for youth to build sustainable livelihoods in the hospitality industry.
Winning this award underscored Etijah’s long-term commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). The recognition also reflected the organization’s belief that empowering youth through education and employability is key to achieving inclusive and lasting social change.
