About Etijah

 

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Program Background

 

The “Sports for Social Change” program aims to enhance the involvement of women and girls in sports while promoting equal access for individuals with disabilities to public spaces. This program is funded by the GIZ under the Equal Opportunities and Social Development (EOSD) program with the primary goal of creating an inclusive and safe environment that encourages sports participation. Etijah will be supervising the program as an umbrella organization for 3 different local organizations and will be empowering them with technical, financial, and capacity-building support in order to directly work with their local communities and implement sports activities. The program is implemented in over 10 local communities across three main governorates: Greater Cairo, Sohag, and Qena.

 

Main Responsabilities

 

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive training program on developing youth initiatives.
  • Develop training modules and materials tailored.
  • Provide guidance on identifying community needs and assessing issues.
  • Train participants on effective strategies for engaging and empowering youth in decision-making processes.
  • Offer guidance on designing and implementing youth-centered programs, activities, and projects.
  • Facilitate sessions on monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment of youth initiatives.
  • Provide tools and resources to support participants in developing sustainable youth initiatives.

 

Key Deliverables

 

  • Training curriculum: Develop a comprehensive training curriculum, including session plans, participant handouts, and training materials.
  • Training sessions: Deliver interactive training sessions to sub-granted organizations, covering all key aspects of developing youth initiatives.
  • Training evaluation: Conduct assessments or surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and gather feedback from participants.
  • Training report: Prepare a concise report summarizing the training activities, outcomes, and recommendations for further capacity building.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Extensive experience in youth development, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Proven expertise in designing and delivering training programs on developing youth initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of youth participation principles, youth empowerment, and youth-led approaches.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills to engage diverse participants, including youth.
  • Knowledge of best practices and innovative approaches in youth programming.
  • Familiarity with the local context, youth culture, and challenges faced by youth.
  • Ability to work independently and meet training objectives within the specified timeframe.

A) Technical Proposal:

  • Detailed description of the proposed training approach, methodology, and training materials to be used.
  • CVs: Resumes of key personnel highlighting relevant experience and expertise in youth development, training, and community engagement.
  • Sample Training Materials: Provide samples of previous training materials developed for similar purposes.
  • References: Contact information for at least three recent clients or organizations for whom similar training has been conducted.

 

B) Financial Proposal:

  • Financial breakdown, including consultant fees, training materials production costs, and any other relevant costs.
