About Etijah
Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specialized in developing, improving and disseminating development methodologies in the field of youth and community development. Based in Cairo. Etijah primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute in building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing them with practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.
Project Background
The Tomooh project is implemented by Etijah in partnership with the Ministry of Youth & Sports (Youth Empowerment Central Unit) and with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). This initiative offers entrepreneurship services to targeted youth, focusing on raising awareness about gender-based violence. Applicants should either have a startup that aims to financially empower women or propose an initiative to combat gender-based violence in Egypt.
The program will serve 60 participants from any governorate around Egypt. Tomooh’s unique approach does not only focus on developing the technical skills of the start-ups and initiatives but also in building the entrepreneur’s transferable and soft skills to be able to conduct their business activities successfully. This can be realized by providing online and offline business and capacity building trainings, and mentorship programs.
Key Components of The Consultancy
This Consultancy’s objectives are divided into three phases:
Phase 1.
Design and deliver 3 virtual days Business Model Validation Training:
The capacity building training cycle will start with a 3-days virtual Business Model Validation training for 60 entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas and models. The Business Model Validation topics includes;
• Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship
• Ideation and Opportunity Assessment
• From Ideation to Impact: Product Launch
• Effective Customer Acquisition and Pricing Strategies
• Funding and Financing for Social Enterprises
• Social Impact Measurement and Evaluation
This phase will include 60 hours virtual one-to-one mentorship sessions providing personalized guidance to refine project ideas and strategies.
Scope of Work
Under the Supervision and in close cooperation with Tomooh team, the consultant will implement the following tasks:
1. Develop training methodology, activities, and training schedule, and submit to the Entrepreneurship team for review and feedback;
2. Select potential 30 candidates from the business validation training to attend the offline training;
3. Finalize the training methodology and training schedule;
4. Deliver 3 days virtual training;
5. Deliver 60 hours of virtual one-to-one mentorship
6. Assistance of project participants in developing their business plans or business models.
7. Identification and customization support services tailored to the specific needs of each startup or initiative
8. Designing Pre and Posttest assessment;
9. Design and conduct an evaluation of the training workshops/sessions;
10. Prepare and submit a Training report.
11. Asses and score the BMCs of participants
Phase 2.
Design and deliver 3 Day Offline Boot Camp
This phase will be 3 offline days for the selected 30 startups and initiatives

After the boot camp, this phase contains 30 hours of virtual on-to-mentorship sessions to address challenges and optimize plans.
Scope of Work
Under the Supervision and in close cooperation with Tomooh team, the consultant will implement the following tasks:
1. Develop training methodology, activities, and training schedule, and submit to Tomooh team for review and feedback;
2. Finalize the training methodology and training schedule;
3. Deliver 3 days offline training;
4. Deliver 30 hour one-to-one mentorship session;
5. Assistance of project participants in developing their business plans or business models.
6. Identification and customization support services tailored to the specific needs of each sustainable business
7. Designing Pre and Posttest assessment;
8. Design and conduct an evaluation of the training workshops/sessions;
9. Prepare and submit a Training report.
Phase 3.
Organize and Deliver 3 days Hybrid Training for the Pitching Demo
After the completion of the training programs, the 30 participants will receive one online training session for preparing their presentations.
Following this session, there will be two offline sessions to select 10 startups or initiatives for the final Demo Day. The first offline session will be providing guidance and observations to improve the presentations of participants. Participants will be receiving feedback to improve their presentations. The second offline session will be dedicated for selecting the top 10 startups or initiatives.
Scope of Work
Under the Supervision and in close cooperation with team, the consultant will implement the following tasks:
1. Deliver one online session preparing participants for the pitch
2. Deliver one offline rehearsal pitching session for participants
3. Provide a rubric for selection criteria
4. Deliver a filtration session selecting 10 startups or initiatives
5. Progress report
Key Deliverables for Each Phase
Phase 1 Deliverables
1. A detailed work plan and roadmap for the development of training/workshops;
2. Training materials: key materials including PowerPoint presentations, assignments, handouts, etc;
3. Successful delivery 3 days virtual trainings;
4. Successful delivery of 60 hours of one-to-one mentorship,
5. Technical support to participants during the training workshop;
6. Final report documenting the process and results of the training including Pre and Posttest analysis result and training evaluation.
Phase 2 Deliverables
1. A detailed work plan and roadmap for the development of training/workshops;
2. Training materials: key materials including PowerPoint presentations, assignments, handouts, etc;
3. Successful delivery 3 days offline training;
4. Successful delivery of 30 hours one-to-one mentorship sessions;
5. Technical support to participants during the training workshop;
6. Final report documenting the process and result of the Training including Pre and Posttest analysis result and training evaluation.
Phase 3 Deliverables:
1. Successful delivery of pitching training
2. Selection of 10 startup or initiatives
3. Selection rubric
4. End of training report
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in developing training content.
- Proven experience in delivering similar training programs.
