About Etijah

 

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Background

 

Etijah is currently working with UNFPA Egypt’s humanitarian program through supporting safe spaces which cater to refugee and migrant women and girls who are GBV survivors or those who are at risk through the implementation of psychosocial support services, vocational rehabilitation, and reproductive health support.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • To provide a safe and confidential space for staff working at safe spaces to process their experiences and emotions related to working with GBV survivors;
  • To equip staff with coping mechanisms and self-care strategies to manage secondary traumatic stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout;
  • To enhance staff well-being and resilience, thereby promoting continued effectiveness in supporting GBV survivors;
  • To equip staff with the knowledge and skills to effectively support the mental health of survivors while protecting their own well-being;
  • To raise staff awareness of burnout and develop strategies for self-care and stress management.

 

Qualification and Experience

 

  • Master’s degree in Medical Psychology;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience providing PSS services in humanitarian or conflict settings;
  • Demonstrated experience working with GBV survivors and staff supporting survivors;
  • Expertise in facilitating group support sessions and providing individual counseling;
  • Strong understanding of self-care and stress management techniques;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.

 

Key Deliverables

 

  • Assessment report.
  • Schedule and outline of group support sessions, including topics covered;
  • Training materials for self-care and stress management workshops;
  • Individual support session reports (confidential);
  • Final report summarizing the overall process, key findings, and recommendations.
