Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Background

 

Etijah is currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Proposal Development Officer. This role is designed to support our efforts in portfolio growth and relationship strategies, making a significant impact on the expansion of Etijah’s portfolio of private partnerships and grant relationships through the development and execution of highly effective relationship strategies.

As the Proposal Development Officer, you will step into a pivotal role where your contributions will directly contribute to the success and sustainability of our mission-driven initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks aimed at fostering strong partnerships, securing vital funding, and enhancing our outreach efforts.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Support the growth of Etijah’s portfolio of private partnerships or grant relationships through the development and delivery of relationship strategies.
  • Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals.
  • Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks.
  • Conduct research to identify private foundations, public and corporate sources, and community organizations that provide grants or philanthropic support for mission or project-related activities or operational funding.
  • Participate in the planning and engagement of partners in Etijah’s public events.
  • Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives, outcomes, deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance and evaluation; writing, revising and editing drafts.
  • Updates Etijah’s website on a regular basis to be appealing for the public.
  • Reporting to the Business Development Manager on a regular basis.

 

Skills and Requirements

 

  • 2-3 years of experience in creating effective partnerships, and/or managing external communication, or related experience;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to connect, and interact with potential partners;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to build external relationships, a self-starter, goal-oriented, and able to initiate donor visits, communication, presentations, and events.
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented mindset;
  • Able to professionally and confidently communicate with national and international organizations;
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills and commitment to meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team;
  • Excellent command of English and Arabic is a must;
  • Strong research and writing skills;
  • An interest in marketing, communications, social media;
  • Familiarity with key social media platforms (e.g. Twitter and Facebook) and with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel).
