Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Program Background

 

Etijah’s Economic Empowerment Department operates as a dynamic force dedicated to creating enduring positive impact across Egypt. The department strategically focuses on enhancing livelihoods, fostering entrepreneurship, developing employability skills and facilitating social integration through innovative and inclusive programs.
At its core, the department aims to uplift refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and host communities by addressing immediate needs and fostering long-term resilience. Through initiatives that encompass skills development, vocational training, and employment generation, Etijah equips individuals with the tools necessary for sustainable and dignified livelihoods. Simultaneously, by promoting entrepreneurship and creating spaces for diverse communities to converge, the department not only stimulates economic growth but also nurtures a sense of inclusivity, contributing to the development of a vibrant and interconnected social fabric in Egypt.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

  • Coordinating enterprise development and employability project activities, ensuring they are executed on time and in alignment with project objectives and guidelines.
  • Support the preparation of localized outreach plans, in coordination with local actors, to expand Etijah’s reach within target areas and ensure alignment with the program’s strategic goals.
  • Execute the project activity plan and oversee field activity implementation, ensuring proper alignment with Etijah’s SOPs
  • Coordinate the provision logistical and operational support for training sessions, workshops, and field activities, ensuring proper resource allocation and implementation.
  • Facilitate communication with local partners and stakeholders, including CBOs, local organizations, and community leaders, to ensure alignment and collaboration in project delivery.
  • Manage staff, ensure proper management of team dynamics, task plans, alignment with Etijah’s SOPs, developing staff talent and capacities, and conduct performance appraisals to direct reports. Conduct regular meetings with the project staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration;
  • Participate in the design and preparation of events and ceremonies, including coordinating logistics and liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
  • Oversee the project’s data collection and documentation for project monitoring and evaluation, contributing to the preparation of internal and donor reports.
  • Draft project monthly, quarterly and annual reports, accurately reflecting on project implementation findings, challenges, achievements, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with project team members to monitor progress on tasks and ensure consistent alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community members, acting as a point of contact to gather feedback and address concerns related to project activities.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Project Officer or Program Manager to support the achievement of program goals.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, Business Administration, Economics, or relevant fields. Master’s degree is favored for this position.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in Livelihoods, Enterprise development, employability or other similar projects in the Egyptian Context. Previous work experience in NGOs is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent command of English and Arabic is a must;
  • Demonstrated Experience in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
