About Etijah
Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.
Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.
Role Overview
The HR Consultant will support in designing and implementing human resources strategies tailored to our unique organizational needs. They will not only identify existing HR challenges but also anticipate future trends, ensuring that our HR policies and procedures align with the best practices and promote a positive work culture. By conducting comprehensive research and analysis, the consultant will provide strategic insights into talent management, employee engagement, and workforce optimization.
Additionally, this role will oversee the execution of HR initiatives, including recruitment processes, employee training and development programs, and performance management systems. A crucial aspect of this consultancy will also include conducting a detailed salary survey to ensure that our compensation packages remain competitive, equitable, and in line with market standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Consultant/s:
- Advise Etijah’s management on the formulation and administration of plans and policies for human resource activities.
- Assist in developing, coordinating, and recommending changes to improve the workflow of the department.
- Conduct a comprehensive salary survey of other similar actors in the field of development to develop a job and salary structure.
- Oversee the development of recruitment strategies.
- Develop employee capacity building, leadership development, and employee training systems
- Advise on HR procedures and recommends effective strategies to reduce staff turnover (e.g. additional staff benefits, etc.)
- Develop, revise, and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Provide consultancy by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues relating to the assigned HR section.
- Attend a weekly follow-up meeting with the department head to discuss updates and provide feedback.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. An MBA is an asset.
Key Deliverables:
Strategic Planning and Policy Development Salary Survey:
– Conducting a comprehensive salary survey to establish a competitive job and salary structure. (Must be finalized in the first month)
– HR Policy Manual: Developing a new HR policy manual. (Must be finalized in the first month)
– Update the Job descriptions. (Must be finalized in the first month)
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Recruitment Strategies:
– Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and select qualified candidates.
– Recruitment Process: Create an updated workflow process for Etijah’s hiring process
Performance Management System:
– Develop and implement employee capacity-building plans to enhance skills and performance.
– Develop a performance management and appraisal system to assess employee performance and provide feedback.
Staff Retention Strategies:
– Recommend and implement strategies to reduce staff turnover, such as additional benefits or improved work conditions.
HR Consulting Reports:
– Conducting HR analysis to identify issues or gaps and recommend solutions.
– Prepare a report outlining Etijag’s HR system findings and recommendations.
