About Etijah

 

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Program Background

 

“Bridging the Youth Skills Gap Program” is implemented in partnership with the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance (SHA), aiming to bridging the skills gap in the hospitality labor market in Egypt. The project will deliver a comprehensive employability and skills development programme for youth and women. Furthermore, the project will work on developing relevant core skills of participants through practical professional skills traineeship opportunities in entry level positions in hospitality businesses and hotels. The programme will also capitalize on developing the core skills of participants through delivery of a comprehensive skills development curriculum to cover soft skills training and practical professional skills training.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

As a full-time Field Coordinator, you will be assigned the following rules and responsibilities:

  • Assist in achieving the training objectives of the program and periodic follow-up with the participants;
  • Work on spreading the program to the largest number of target audience according to criteria in the communities hosting in Cairo;
  • Establish a number of local partnerships with stakeholders to market the project and ensure the sustainability of the associated results;
  • Organize and facilitate personal interviews to select the beneficiaries joining the program;
  • Effective communication and follow up with the beneficiaries enrolled in the program;
  • Work to overcome all obstacles that may face the program / beneficiaries during the implementation phase;
  • Responsible for procuring and maintaining training logistics including the evaluation tools, and assisting trainers in training as well as various financial matters related to training;
  • Prepare activity reports and periodic reports;
  • Responsible for the financial, administrative and logistical tasks associated with the implementation of activities (including handling of data related to the project);
  • Conduct any other tasks as required to support the successful implementation of the project.

 

Qualification and Experience

 

  • Experience in projects management in the Egyptian Context;
  • Bachelor degree in Social Studies, Economic Development, Business Administration, Economics or relevant fields;
  • 1-2 years of previous work experience in the field of non-governmental organizations;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; to represent Etijah with local organizations;
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented;
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills and commitment to meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team;
  • Excellent of speaking and writing English and Arabic is a must;
  • Good knowledge in the use of computer programs, especially (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint.);
  • Previous experience in similar projects /contexts;
  • Familiarity with the financial and procurement procedures for project activities.
