About Etijah

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specialized in developing, improving and disseminating development methodologies in the field of youth and community development. Based in Cairo. Etijah primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute in building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing them with practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Project Background:

Sustain it project is implemented by Etijah in partnership with GIZ to strengthen the capacities of 11 NGOs in Assiut and Kafr El Sheikh to effectively contribute to climate change mitigation by implementing inclusive, community-led solid waste and circular economy initiatives. The project aims to enhance technical, financial, and institutional capabilities of partner NGOs while fostering collaboration with local authorities for sustainable environmental impact.

 

Objective of the Assignment

The objective of this assignment is to design and implement integrated environmental social campaigns and online awareness activities that raise awareness about sustainable waste management, environmental protection, and climate action among youth, women, and local communities.

The Environmental Social Campaigns & Online Awareness component aims to:

  • Support community-based organizations (CBOs) in promoting their environmental initiatives.
  • Increase public awareness of environmental issues and climate change.
  • Promote waste management and circular economic practices.
  • Highlight the role of youth and women in environmental sustainability.
  • Strengthen the visibility of the Sustain It Project and its partners.

 

Key Components of The Consultancy:

The selected company will be responsible for the following:

1. Campaign Development

  • Develop 2 comprehensive environmental on-ground campaigns and 1 online campaign including concepts and messaging framework.
  • One of the offline campaigns will be in Kafr el Sheikh and one of the offline campaigns will be in Assiut.
  • Identify key environmental themes aligned with the Sustain It Project objectives.
  • Develop key messages tailored to the target audience.
  • Plan and implement on-ground activities (workshops, events, outreach)
  • Produce awareness materials (print, visual, digital if needed)
  • Develop a campaign calendar and communication timeline.

Final report including:

  • Results and KPIs
  • Behavior change analysis
  • Lessons learned and recommendations

2. Social Media & Online Awareness

  • Design and implement online awareness campaigns across social media platforms.
  • Implement paid advertising campaigns to boost visibility and ensure wider audience reach.
  • Produce engaging digital content including:
    • Social media posts
    • Infographics
    • Educational content on environmental practices.
  • Manage campaign engagement and audience interaction.

3. Community Engagement

  • Coordinate with CBOs to promote local environmental initiatives.
  • Support online promotion of environmental activities and events.
  • Highlight success stories and impact from the field.

4. Content Production

  • Coordinate with the photographer and videographer for the campaign material.
  • Produce campaign visuals aligned with project branding and visibility guidelines.
  • Ensure correct use of partner logos and messaging.

5. Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Track campaign reach, engagement, and performance.
  • Use pre/post assessments
  • Campaign Database
  • Video Documentation
  • Photographic Evidence
  • Attendance Sheets
  • Registration Forms
  • Provide periodic reports on campaign results and impact.
  • Measure behavioral and environmental impact
  • Recommend improvements for future awareness activities.

 

6. Visibility Materials Distribution

The consultant will be responsible for distributing 2000 tote bags and water bottles with project branding to Kafr El Sheikh and Assiut Governorates. Additionally, for documentation purposes the consultant will make registration sheets, and take photos for this activity.

 

7. Target Audience

The campaigns will target:

  • Youth and young environmental advocates.
  • Women and community leaders.
  • Local communities in project areas.
  • Civil society organizations.

 

8. Coordination and Supervision

The team will work closely with:

  • Etijah Communication Officer.
  • Sustain It Project Manager.
  • Partner organizations and participating CBOs.

All campaign materials must be reviewed and approved according to the project’s Communication and Visibility Guidelines.

 

Key Deliverables

The company will deliver:

  • Environmental Campaign Strategy and workplan including clear duration of assignment milestones (planning, implementation, reporting).
  • Achieve outreach to 700 beneficiaries via the on-ground campaign.
  • Social Media Content Calendar.
  • Digital awareness materials and campaign assets.
  • Visual storytelling content.
  • Performance and analytics reports.
  • Registration sheets and photos for the offline campaign
  • Distributing 2000 tote bags and water bottles with high quality and project branding.
  • Final campaign impact report.

Expected Outcomes

  • Increased online engagement and awareness about environmental sustainability by ensuring 250,000+ outreach through paid and organic strategies.
  • Stronger visibility of community-led environmental initiatives.
  • Enhanced public participation in environmental actions.
  • Improved recognition of the Sustain It Project and its partners.

Duration

The assignment is expected to be implemented over the period of May until October with possible extension subject to project needs and availability of funds.

Required Qualifications and Expertise:

The implementing company should have:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing environmental and/or social awareness campaigns, preferably with demonstrated results and impact.
  • Strong expertise in social media strategy, digital engagement, and online campaign management, with evidence of successful audience reach and interaction.
  • Demonstrated experience working with development projects, NGOs, or donor-funded programs, with a clear understanding of reporting and visibility requirements.
  • Advanced skills in content creation, storytelling, and visual communication, with a strong portfolio of previous work.
  • Solid understanding of climate change, sustainability, circular economy, youth Engagement or waste management topics.
  • Ability to develop creative, innovative, and contextually on ground campaign concepts and messaging that effectively engage target audiences.
  • Proven capacity to deliver high-quality outputs within tight timelines, supported by a clear and realistic work plan.
  • Availability of a qualified team with relevant expertise in campaign management, content production, and digital communication.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills, particularly in working with multiple stakeholders, including community-based organizations.

  1. Company Profile:

A comprehensive company profile in English, including an overview of the organization and its relevant experience, particularly in working with NGOs and development projects.

Evidence of previous experience in implementing similar assignments, especially in environmental or social awareness campaigns.

  1. Proposed Concept Note and Work Plan:

A draft concept note outlining the proposed approach, methodology, and key ideas for the campaign, along with a preliminary implementation schedule.
