About Etijah

 

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Program Background

 

Tomooh project is implemented by Etijah in partnership with Secours Catholique Caritas France (SCCF). The project Provides Employability and Entrepreneurship Services to targeted youth with the aim to increase youth economic empowerment and to combat youth unemployment in Egypt. The project specific objective can be summed up to decreasing the gap between the workforce and the job market. The program has two components: Employability and Entrepreneurship, this TOR Scope is relevant to the employability component.

The employability component is intended to support youth through sharpening their capabilities with a set of skills, knowledge, and qualifications to help them into their most suitable personal career path. The component aims at enhancing the graduates’ employability skills to fill the gap between university life and the skills demanded by the employers in the labor market. The component proposes several employability activities to equip them with required skills and facilitate the development of their employability. These activities take the graduates on a journey of self-discovery, career exploration, and preparation besides career coaching through a set of general and job-specific skills that recruiters are looking for such as job hunting and job searching skills.
This phase focuses on two main sectors for employability which are (Hospitality) and (Marketing and Sales). Participants interested in a specific work field will be divided into two separate cohorts to cater for their work needs.

 

 

Consultancy Overview  

 

The Soft Skills & Career Coaching Sessions aim to equip participants with the essential interpersonal and professional skills needed for a successful career in the hospitality and marketing sector. Through interactive training and personalized coaching, participants will gain insight into different career paths, identify the key soft skills required, and evaluate their own strengths and areas for improvement. By the end of the program, they will have a clear career direction and a personalized development plan to enhance their employability.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Hospitality Cohort

 

The consultant will be responsible of the following tasks:

• Provide an overview of various career paths in the hospitality sector, including hotels, restaurants, tourism
• Share real-world case studies of hospitality professionals to illustrate career progression.
• Educate participants on the essential soft skills for success in hospitality, such as:

o Communication & Active Listening
o Teamwork & Collaboration
o Adaptability & Problem-Solving
o Time Management & Work Ethics

• Conduct interactive role-playing exercises to help participants understand how these skills apply in real hospitality settings.
• Guide participants in evaluating their strengths and weaknesses through structured self-assessment tools.
• Facilitate one-on-one coaching sessions where participants reflect on their career aspirations and the skills they need to improve.
• Share job search strategies, including resume building, interview preparation, and industry networking.

 

 

Sales and Marketing Cohort

 

• Provide an overview of various career paths in the marketing and sales sector, including roles in digital marketing, sales management, branding, market research
• Guide participants in evaluating their strengths and weaknesses and creating a personal development plan aligned with their career goals.
• Facilitate team-building activities and exercises to strengthen professional collaboration.
• Introduce participants to the 5 Cs of effective communication (Clarity, Conciseness, Courtesy, Concreteness, and Correctness).
• Teach time management principles, including prioritization, efficiency techniques, and productivity tools.
• Introduce participants to the fundamentals of problem-solving and decision-making in sales and marketing.
• Guide participants in writing professional CVs and cover letters tailored for marketing and sales roles.
• Assist them in creating and optimizing LinkedIn profiles for networking and job searching.
• Conduct mock interviews, providing feedback to improve confidence and professional presentation.
• Introduce participants to popular job search tools in Egypt and how to use them effectively.
• Explain workplace ethics, professional behavior, and cultural awareness in marketing and sales.
• Provide an introduction to labor law in Egypt, focusing on employees’ rights, duties, and workplace regulations.
• Conduct individual and group coaching sessions to provide tailored career advice.

 

 

Key Deliverables

 

Hospitality Cohort

  1. Deliver 5 Soft Skills sessions for 2 groups of the Hospitality cohorts each group (35 participants). The main objectives of the 5 sessions would be focusing on (Introduction to the Hospitality Field, Career Planning, Team Building, Communication Skills, CV Writing) Total days of delivery: 10 days 
  2. Deliver 70 online coaching sessions (each session 45 minutes)
  3. Develop a structured curriculum & lesson plans focused on soft skills, career paths, and self-development.
  4. Deliver a CV writing workshop with feedback as one of the 5 sessions
  5. Provide training materials, including:
    • Career path guides outlining different hospitality roles.
    • Soft skills development worksheets and exercises.
    • Self-assessment tools for evaluating strengths and areas for growth.
    • Role-playing scripts and real-world hospitality scenarios for practice.
  6. Facilitate interactive exercises, such as team activities, problem-solving simulations, and guest interaction role-plays.
  7. Offer individualized feedback and career development action plans for participants.

 

Sales and Marketing Cohort

 

1. Deliver 6 Soft Skills sessions for 2 groups of the Marketing & Sales cohort (25 participants each). The 6 sessions should be each covering one of the following topics (Career Planning, Team Building/Communication Skills, Time Management/Problem Solving, CV Writing, Personal Interviews, Work Ethics) – Total days of delivery: 12 days 
2. Deliver 50 online coaching session (each session 45 minutes)
3. Develop a structured training curriculum & lesson plans covering:

o Career paths and required skills in marketing & sales.
o Soft skills development, including communication, teamwork, and time management.
o Professional branding, CV writing, LinkedIn profile creation, and job search strategies.
o Problem-solving techniques and decision-making models.
o Workplace ethics, networking strategies, and labor law basics.

4. Provide training materials, including:

a. Career path guides outlining different marketing and sales roles.
b. Self-assessment tools for skills evaluation.
c. Soft skills development exercises and worksheets.
d. Job search resources, including CV and cover letter templates.
e. Mock interview scripts and evaluation criteria.

5. Facilitate role-playing activities for sales pitches, negotiation exercises, and client engagement scenarios.
6. Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions for career planning and personal development.

 

Required Qualifications

 

• Registered companies/institutions or individuals in Egypt with experience in conducting English language training programs.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the same field
• Proven experience in managing large scale projects
• Capacity to provide and deliver customized high-quality assessment reports on each student individually.
• Can operate offline in Cairo
