About Etijah

 

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Program Background

 

The “Sports for Social Change” program aims to enhance the involvement of women and girls in sports while promoting equal access for individuals with disabilities to public spaces. This program is funded by the GIZ under the Equal Opportunities and Social Development (EOSD) program with the primary goal of creating an inclusive and safe environment that encourages sports participation. Etijah will be supervising the program as an umbrella organization for 3 different local organizations and will be empowering them with technical, financial, and capacity-building support in order to directly work with their local communities and implement sports activities. The program is implemented in over 10 local communities across three main governorates: Greater Cairo, Sohag, and Qena.

 

Main Responsabilities

 

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive training program on community assessment and mapping techniques.
  • Provide guidance on data collection methods, tools, and analysis techniques for community assessments.
  • Train participants on how to engage with community members and stakeholders effectively.
  • Facilitate hands-on exercises and practical activities to enhance participants’ skills in community mapping.
  • Offer guidance on reporting and presenting community assessment findings and recommendations.

 

Key Deliverables

 

  • Training curriculum: Develop a comprehensive training curriculum, including session plans, participant handouts, and training materials.
  • Training sessions: Deliver interactive training sessions to sub-granted organizations, covering all key aspects of community assessment and mapping.
  • Training evaluation: Conduct assessments or surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and gather feedback from participants.
  • Training report: Prepare a concise report summarizing the training activities, outcomes, and recommendations for further capacity building.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Extensive experience in conducting community assessments and mapping exercises.
  • Strong background in community development, social research, or related fields.
  • Proven expertise in designing and delivering training programs on community assessment and mapping.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills to engage diverse participants.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and interactive training methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the local context and cultural sensitivities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet training objectives within the specified timeframe.
