About Etijah

 

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Program Background

 

Etijah Education and Scholarships Program aims at empowering students from disadvantaged communities to become future leaders through a comprehensive learning approach. Currently, the program actively manages and implements a diverse range of educational projects and scholarships, benefiting students of all ages. Collaborating with esteemed partners, the program adopts a holistic approach to nurture students’ skills across different areas. By fostering a well-rounded educational experience, the program equips students with the tools necessary for success, implementing a rich blend of activities both on-ground and online with the support of different local and international donors.

 

Consultancy Overview  

 

Context

 

Etijah is managing university scholarships for students currently enrolled in their second and third academic years, as part of the scholarship program, Etijah seeks to conduct two rounds of a four-day career guidance/ preparation camp during the last week of January and the first week of February 2025 for around 95 students to build students’ capabilities on the various skills needed for their career path and professional life.  

 

Scope of Work 

 

Through conducting a 4-day camp Etijah aims to narrow the gap between students’ current competencies and the competencies needed to be qualified for the job market. For this to be achieved, the camp is structured on two integral themes; Basic Career Skills and Knowledge for Specific Fields of Work (Technical Skills).  

 

Consultancy Components 

 

1. Basic Career Skills, including the following:

Freelancing, Research Skills, CV Writing, Interview Skills, Professional Communication, Networking, Using LinkedIn, Teamworking.

 

2. Knowledge of Specific Fields of Work (Technical Skills) to help students map the market for current internships and future jobs as well. 

Fields of Study are as follows:

  • Computer Engineering (Software system – Artificial Intelligence- Cyber security) 
  • Energy and Renewable Energy
  • Mechatronics Engineering (Automation Program – Robotics) 
  • Biomedical Engineering 
  • Nanotechnology and Nanoelectronics Engineering 
  • Communications and Electronics Engineering 
  • Aerospace Engineering 
  • Political Science

  • Mass Communication 

 

3. Online follow-up sessions for three months following the camp. 

 

Main Responsabilities and Deliverables

 

The consultant will be responsible of the following tasks:

 

– Design a clear training methodology to fulfil components of the camp.
– Propose a detailed training agenda.
– Deliver training sessions offline during the camp.
– Conduct pre- and post-evaluation with the students to assess the knowledge change.
– Provide comprehensive training materials and handouts for students.
– Follow up on student’s progress through online sessions for three months following the camp.
– Submit a comprehensive final report on the consultancy in Arabic detailing training methodology as per the agreed timeline with the project team.

 

Required Qualifications

 

– Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in developing training content.
– Proven experience in delivering similar training programs.
– Previous experience in training young learners and public high school students.
– Excellent command of both spoken and written English language.
– Excellent communication and presentation skills.

 

How to Apply

 

Interested companies, entities and consortium of individuals are to submit the following documents by Thursday, Oct 31st, 2024, at Etijah’s office (1st floor, 56 Nozha Street, Heliopolis, Cairo) by 05:00 PM Cairo Time in two separate envelopes that include:

 

a) Technical proposal with a detailed response to the TOR, including:

  • Training methodology and detailed training agenda in alignment with the assignments key objectives.
  • CVs and portfolios highlighting relevant experience in relation to the subject of the training.

b) Financial proposal that provides:

  • A detailed breakdown of costs.
  • Required supporting documents for companies and entities:
    – Commercial Record
    – Tax Registration
    – VAT registration, if any

 

Notes  

  • The consulting entity has the option to apply for any or all of the components.
  • Consultant shall attend several meetings with the project team to finalize the camp agenda.
  • Camps cover full accommodation & transportation to and from camps locations according to Etijah policies.
  • Dates and locations of camps are tentative and may be subject to change.
  • Taxes stated by law will be deducted from the payment.
  • The offers should be stamped on each page and signed.
