About Etijah

 

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

 

Program Background

 

Etijah is implementing Community Heroes Program, which aims to empower youth through personal development and community engagement. The program consists of 2:3 online sessions and a youth camp, designed to equip young individuals with leadership skills and foster their active participation in community development. The online sessions will serve as a platform for young individuals to learn valuable skills, build leadership qualities, and contribute positively to their communities. Additionally, the camp aims to mobilize young adolescents to plan and implement community initiatives that engage local communities in themes around Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through serving 50 beneficiaries. 

 

 

 

Consultancy Objectives

 

Etijah is seeking to implement online sessions, Community Service and Leadership Camp with 50 beneficiaries to unleash their potential for Community Service and Volunteering. Camp is expected to take place during July 2025 for 3:4 full training days. 

Through conducting online sessions and a 3-day camp, Etijah aims to develop students’ sense of initiative and readiness to practice giving back to society.  

Topics of training and activities shall be designed to achieve the following key objectives: 

  1. Online Sessions: – 
  • Raising students’ awareness on Sustainable Development Goals. 
  • Enhancing students’ social and civic consciousness. 
  • Developing students’ skills to start working collectively with each other through effective teamwork and communication skills. 
  • Developing students’ skills for effective Community Service projects, including Problem-solving, Negotiation, Networking, Time and Resource Management, Public speaking, Presentations, and Initiative Sustainability. 
  1. Camp Objectives 
  • Providing students with the necessary tools to start planning and implementing their Community Services projects. 
  • Strategy Development for their initiative ideas 
  • Budgeting: Teach cost analysis and financial accountability measures 
  • Implementation Roadmaps: Develop phased timelines with clear milestones and success metrics 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

The consultant(s) will be responsible of the following tasks: 

Inception phase 

  • Design a clear training methodology to fulfill the mentioned key objectives and tailor a detailed training content. 
  • Propose a detailed training agenda per session, including session outlines, training materials, and activities. 
  • Attend several meetings with the project team to finalize the camp agenda. 

Implementation phase 

  • Conduct 2:3 online sessions on SDGs  
  • Conduct face-to-face training for three to four days with 50 students. 
  • Apply experiential learning principles. 
  • Conduct pre- and post-evaluation with the students to assess the knowledge change. 
  • Provide comprehensive training materials and handouts for students per each session. 
  • Mentor the students while designing their Community Service projects and identifying the strengths and weaknesses. 

Post-training phase 

  • Arrange all training tools, resources, and materials in a soft-copy manual. 
  • Submit a comprehensive final report on the consultancy in English detailing training methodology and analyzing students’ action plans and ideas for their Community Service projects, pre- and post- tests, in addition to capturing highlights of the training. 

  

 

Required Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience 

 

  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in developing training content. 
  • Proven experience in delivering similar training topics. 
  • Previous experience in training university students. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
