About Etijah

 

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specialized in developing, improving and disseminating development methodologies in the field of youth and community development. Based in Cairo. Etijah primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute in building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing them with practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

 

Project Overview

 

Etijah’s Economic Empowerment Department operates as a dynamic force dedicated to creating enduring positive impact across Egypt. The department strategically focuses on enhancing livelihoods, fostering entrepreneurship, developing employability skills and facilitating social integration through innovative and inclusive programs. At its core, the department aims to uplift refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and host communities by addressing immediate needs and fostering long-term resilience. Through initiatives that encompass skills development, vocational training, and employment generation, Etijah equips individuals with the tools necessary for sustainable and dignified livelihoods. Simultaneously, by promoting entrepreneurship and creating spaces for diverse communities to converge, the department not only stimulates economic growth but also nurtures a sense of inclusivity, contributing to the development of a vibrant and interconnected social fabric in Egypt.

 

Etijah invites qualified TVET institutions, training centers, or organizations with a strong track record of delivering certified vocational training aligned with labor market demands, to make an offer for delivering Vocational trainings to 150 Refugees and Egyptians (Aged 18-65 years old) in Greater Cairo seeking to enhance their vocational skills in order to access the Egyptian job market and enhance their capacity building. Etijah seeks to contract specialized TVET service providers to deliver market-driven vocational and technical training for selected project beneficiaries.

 

N.B: The selected participants will be provided by Etijah, as they will part one of Etijah’s employability interventions.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Ensuring the availability of suitable and inclusive training spaces equipped with necessary tools and equipment for the participants.

2. Delivery of skills-based, and industry-aligned vocational Trainings to a total of 150 participants in at least one of the following sectors:

  • A/C & Refrigeration Maintenance
  • Mobile Phone Maintenance
  • Tailoring & Garment Production
  • Beauty & Hairdressing
  • Carpentry and & Furniture Making
  • Cooking & Pastry
  • Handicrafts & Small-scale Manufacturing

3. Developing tools for tracking and assessing participants’ progress, compiling success stories, and progress reports.

4. Providing recognized certifications upon completion of training

5. Compiling participant feedback regarding the effectiveness and clarity of the TVET.

6. Offering workplace linkages, job placement support or internship opportunities, where possible.

 

Eligibility Criteria 

 

Interested service providers must meet the following criteria:

1. Registered as a legal entity in Egypt (NGO, training center, TVET institute, private company).

2. A minimum of 3 years of organizational experience in vocational training and skills development, qualified trainers and fully developed curricula

3. Proven ability to deliver trainings to refugees and/or non-Egyptians

4. Proven ability to employment linkages is an advantage

5. Capacity to provide training facilities and equipment in the proposed vocational field, in Greater Cairo

6. Ability to issue recognized certificates. Internationally recognized certificates are an advantage.

7. Commitment to ensuring safe, inclusive, and gender-sensitive training environments.

 

 

Key Deliverables:

 

1. A comprehensive training curriculum.

2. Enroll and deliver TVET training sessions to 150 participants.

3. A pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate progress.

4. Periodic progress reports and a final training report.

 

 

** The technical proposal must include the following:

 

  • Organizational profile, including relevant experience.
  • A detailed workplan of the trainings (A single training round cannot exceed 2.5 months)
  • List of training courses offered and their market relevance.
  • Curriculum outline for proposed training(s).
  • Training methodology (practical components, assessments, certification).
  • Trainer CV/resumes, highlighting their qualifications and experience
  • Plan for monitoring trainees’ progress and post-training follow-up.

 

 

** The financial proposal must include the following:

 

  • Detailed cost breakdown per trainee and per course.
  • Proposed budget covering training materials, trainer fees, facility rental, certification, etc.
  • All costs must be stated in EGP and inclusive of all taxes

 

** Extra supporting documents including: 

 

  • Business/NGO commercial registration or MoSS registration
  • Tax registration
  • References from similar projects.
  • Proof of certificate accreditation

Proposals must be submitted by hand at Etijah’s Office Front Desk in two Closed Envelopes by 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 13th, 2025. Late applications will NOT be considered.
