Eng. Mohamed Nada from Damietta, who is an educational computer scientist, started Vlaby, which is a virtual lab online platform for school students in different stages. He has a team of 3 members where he was able to have a fully working MVP after he participated in TOMOOH. The team believes in the need for their product due to the inadequate science lab facilities in public schools; by developing this platform, students will be able to do interactive experiments in a safe and affordable virtual environment.

Mohamed applied with a prototype where he had only an English version of the app, with no clear revenue streams strategy. After the TOMOOH program, Mohamed pivoted the business plan to have an Arabic version of the app to serve local schools in Egypt and to scale in the MENA region. Finally, he was able to develop a fully working version of the website after being funded by EdVentures (a venture capital firm in Egypt specialized in the education industry) for an undisclosed amount. VLABY currently has 3-full time employees in Damietta, besides the founding team, and they plan to scale their platform to the African countries starting from the 2021-2022 academic year. VLABY also was recognized by the African Union as one of the best 100 startups in Africa for education.
