About Etijah
Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.
Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.
Program Background
Tomooh project is implemented by Etijah in partnership with Secours Catholique Caritas France (SCCF). The project Provides Employability and Entrepreneurship Services to targeted youth to increase youth economic empowerment and to combat youth unemployment in Egypt. The project-specific objective can be summed up to decreasing the gap between the workforce and the job market. The program has two components: Employability and Entrepreneurship. This TOR Scope is relevant to the entrepreneurship component.
The entrepreneurship component promotes entrepreneurial learning through raising youth awareness and building their capacities in entrepreneurship. It is a pre-incubation program that aims at developing the participants’ knowledge together with their intention to turn their business ideas into established enterprises on the ground. The component will serve 50 participants from any governorate around Egypt. Tomooh’s unique approach not only focuses on developing the technical skills of the start-ups but also on building the entrepreneurs’ transferable and soft skills to conduct their business activities successfully. This can be realised by providing online and offline business and capacity-building trainings, coaching and mentorship programs.
Main Objectives
Mission 1.
1- Design and deliver 6-days Business Model Validation Training
The capacity-building training cycle will start with a six-day, virtually intensive training on business model validation. Designed for entrepreneurs, 45 tech startups and 30 non-tech startups. The curriculum for tech and non-tech startup will be different and they will be always separated in sessions and the entire training. Tech startups focus on new innovative startup ideas while non-tech startups are more product / artistic based. The program equips both groups with the tools and methodologies to refine their business ideas and develop robust models. For optimal engagement and personalized support, participants will be divided into two cohorts, attending four-hour sessions per day.
Tech startups Topics:
This phase of the training will be conducted online for 45 participants and will include the following material:
- Day 1: Introduction to Entrepreneurship
- Day 2: Ideation and opportunity assessment
- Day 3: Business model validation
- Day 4: Product development
- Day 5: Effective customer acquisition and pricing strategy
- Day 6: Funding and financing for startups
Non-tech startups Topics:
This phase of the training will be conducted online and will start with 30 non-tech start ups include the following material:
- Introduction to product-based Start-ups
- Idea Validation and Market Research
- Product Development and Prototyping
- Costing and Price Strategy
- Logistics and Operations
- Supply Chain Management
2-Design and deliver 9-days of Hybrid Personal and Technical Capacity Building Training
Following the initial virtual phase, 30 tech and 20 non-tech selected startups will attend a three-day, intensive in-person bootcamp to accelerate their personal growth potential.
Later on, a six-day virtual technical capacity-building session for the 30 tech and 20 non-tech startups will be conducted.
The program adopts a participant-driven approach, empowering the participants to identify their specific needs and tailor the learning experience accordingly. Through interactive sessions and collaborative workshops, they will set the learning agenda and focus on the topics most relevant to their individual goals and business challenges.

This phase of the training will be conducted offline and will include the following material:
- Day 1: Team Building and Organization Culture + Sales Techniques and Customer Relationship Management
- Day 2: Sales Techniques and Customer Relationship Management + Scaling and Growth Strategies

- Day 2: Marketing and Branding
- Day 3: Innovation and R&D for sustainable growth
- Day 4: Operations Management and Efficiency

Scope of Work
Under the Supervision and in close cooperation with the Entrepreneurship team, the consultant will implement the following tasks:
- Develop a detailed training methodology and curriculum for the 15-day program for both groups tech and non-tech startup with their separate curriculum and material, divided into three distinct phases:

- Submit all training materials (curriculum, activities, schedule) to the Entrepreneurship team for review and feedback.
- Select potential candidates from the business validation training to attend the capacity building training.
Deliverables
- A detailed work plan and roadmap outlining the development timeline for the training.
- Comprehensive project schedule that will provide a day-by-day breakdown of activities, assigned responsibilities, and deadline for each training module.
- Engaging training materials that include high-quality PowerPoint presentations, interactive exercises, case studies, handouts, and any other relevant learning materials aligned with the training objectives.
- Successful delivery of 15 days blended training for the tech cohort and non-tech cohort and providing ongoing technical assistance and guidance to participants throughout the training.
- Implementing a standardized Pre- and Post- Training Assessments to gauge participants’ baseline knowledge, and measure learning progress.
- Detailed training evaluation report that documents the entire training process, including participant feedback, analysis of pre-and post-test results, key learnings, and recommendations for future improvements.
Mission 2.
Deliver and design Hybrid Entrepreneurship Mentorship and Coaching Program
Following the completion of the training programs, the 50 participants will embark on a comprehensive coaching journey to further propel their business ideas. This involves individualized one-on-one coaching sessions addressing specific needs like business model refinement, marketing strategies, and financial planning. Additionally, group mentorship session, facilitated by industry experts, providing collaborative learning and peer support on tackling common challenges.

- Marketing and Gross Strategy

- Web Development
- Communication Skills
- Leadership and team building
In addition, to hone their investor interaction skills, participants engage in two pitching practice sessions. The first, held online, focuses on refining pitches and presentation techniques, ensuring clear and compelling communication. The second, held offline, provides a live pitching experience with expert panel, offering crucial feedback, potentially leading to shortlisting for the final demo day.

Scope of Work:
Under the Supervision and in close cooperation with the Entrepreneurship team, the consultant will implement the following tasks:
- Collaborate with the Entrepreneurship Team to identify and customize support services for each participant’s specific needs (e.g., legal advice, financial consulting, marketing expertise).
- Develop and deliver one-on-one caching sessions tailored to each participant’s specific needs and business challenges.
- Develop the curriculum and methodology for the 1-day offline mentorship camp focusing on peer-to-peer learning and expert feedback. Secure participation of experienced mentors and industry professionals.
- Organize two pitching practice sessions to help participants refine their startup pitches and gain confidence presenting to investors.
Deliverables:
- A detailed work plan and roadmap outlining the development timeline for the training.
- Comprehensive project schedule that will provide a day-by-day breakdown of activities, assigned responsibilities, and deadline for each training module.
- Successful delivery and facilitate a series of tailored one-on-one online coaching sessions for the 50 startups, one to group offline mentorship camp and two hybrid days pitching practice sessions to 30 startups.
- Provide individual feedback on participants’ startup pitch decks.
- Select 10 startups for the final Demo Day.
- Prepare a final report summarizing the progress and achievements of the program. The report will include individual participant summaries, key learnings, and recommendations for future development.
