Partner: Canada Fund for Local Initiatives

Year of Implementation: 2014-2015

In collaboration with Canada Fund for Local Initiatives, Etijah designed and held trainings on public debate and dialogue skills for at least 30 youth leaders and young women and girls in marginalized rural areas. In doing so, Etijah worked on 3 strategic governorates which are: Cairo, Beheira, and Qena. By the end of the project, the targeted women with dialogue and debate skills were empowered, influenced, and rejected stereotypes about the role of women in society.

This raised public awareness about the added value of their social and political inclusion to the decision making process. The participants held public events in their governorates that covered different issues like violence against women and sexual harassment. These events have reached 504 beneficiaries. This went hand in hand with an online campaign which was launched to outreach more audiences.
