Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specialized in developing, improving and disseminating development methodologies in the field of youth and community development. Based in Cairo. Etijah primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute in building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing them with practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

 

Project Overview

Etijah’s Economic Empowerment Department seeks to contract a qualified service provider to design and deliver a comprehensive Job Readiness and Soft Skills Training Program targeting 60 refugees and Egyptians residing in Greater Cairo.

The program aims to enhance participants’ employability, workplace readiness, and access to the Egyptian labor market through practical training, coaching, and employment support services.

The selected service provider will be responsible for:

  • Designing and delivering a structured job readiness and soft skills training program.
  • Providing practical employability support and workplace preparation.
  • Conducting participant assessments and follow-up.
  • Supporting participants through job matching, internships, Job placements, or employment referrals where applicable.

The final participant selection and mobilization will be conducted by Etijah.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The assignment aims to:

  • Improve participants’ employability and workplace readiness.
  • Strengthen participants’ communication, teamwork, and professional skills.
  • Enhance understanding of workplace culture and expectations.
  • Support participants in developing CVs, interview skills, and job search strategies.
  • Facilitate participants’ transition into employment opportunities.

 

Job Requirements

 

The selected service provider will be expected to:

1. Training Design and Curriculum Development

  • Develop a comprehensive training curriculum and facilitator guide.
  • Tailor training materials to the needs of refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and Egyptian host communities.
  • Ensure all materials are practical, inclusive, gender-sensitive, and culturally appropriate.

2. Training Delivery

Deliver training sessions for a total of 50-60 participants covering topics such as:

  • Communication skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Time management
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Workplace ethics and professionalism
  • CV writing and job applications
  • Interview preparation and mock interviews
  • Digital literacy and workplace technology basics
  • Career planning and goal setting
  • Workplace readiness and labor market orientation

The training schedule, duration, and group division will be finalized in coordination with Etijah.

3. Coaching and Mentorship

  • Provide hands-on coaching and individual guidance to participants.
  • Support participants in identifying career pathways and employment opportunities.

4. Assessments and Monitoring

  • Conduct pre- and post-training assessments.
  • Monitor attendance, engagement, and participant progress.
  • Collect participant feedback and lessons learned.

5. Employment Support

  • Provide job matching support and employment referrals where possible.
  • Facilitate linkages with employers, internships, or work placement opportunities.
  • Conduct post-training follow-up with participants.

 

Key Deliverables: 

The selected service provider will be expected to deliver:

  1. Detailed workplan and implementation timeline.
  2. Comprehensive training curriculum and training materials.
  3. Delivery of training sessions targeting 60 participants.
  4. Attendance sheets and participant records.
  5. Pre- and post-training assessment reports.
  6. Periodic progress updates.
  7. Final report summarizing:
  • Training implementation
  • Participant outcomes
  • Success stories
  • Challenges and lessons learned

Employment outcomes and referrals

Duration of Assignment

The assignment is expected to be implemented over a period of three (3) months.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested service providers must meet the following criteria:

For Organizations

  • Registered legal entity in Egypt.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employability, workforce development, or soft skills training.
  • Proven experience working with refugees, migrants, or vulnerable communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in employment support and job placement is an advantage.
  • Capacity to deliver high-quality training programs and reporting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and gender-sensitive programming.

For Consortiums or Individual Consultants

  • Valid tax registration.
  • Demonstrated relevant training and facilitation experience.
  • Experience delivering employability and soft skills programs.
  • Experience working with refugees and non-Egyptian communities is preferred.
  • Strong facilitation and reporting skills.

Technical Proposal Requirements

The technical proposal must include:

  • Organizational or consultant profile.
  • Relevant experience and previous similar assignments.
  • Proposed methodology and implementation approach.
  • Detailed workplan and timeline.
  • Training curriculum outline and sample modules.
  • Monitoring and evaluation approach.
  • CVs of trainers/facilitators.
  • Plan for participant follow-up and employment support.

Financial Proposal Requirements

The financial proposal must include:

  • Detailed budget breakdown.
  • Cost per participant.
  • Trainer and facilitation fees.
  • Training material and logistical costs.
  • Any additional operational costs.

All costs must be submitted in EGP and inclusive of all applicable taxes.

Supporting Documents

Applicants must submit:

  • Commercial registration or NGO registration.
  • Tax card.
  • Previous references or completion certificates from similar assignments.
  • Any relevant accreditation or certifications.
