About Etijah

Based in Cairo, Youth and Development Consultancy Institute (Etijah) was founded in 2006 as an Egyptian NGO specialized in Youth Development. Since its establishment, Etijah has been working across various development sectors, including Education and Training, Health and Women Empowerment, Volunteerism and Civic Engagement, and Entrepreneurship and Employment. Etijah is leading and implementing several development projects across the previously mentioned sectors in partnership with several international, regional, and local organizations to provide youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to further promote their empowerment and leadership in the society.

 

About Bridge Project

Etijah is implementing Bridge Qualifying Scholarship with the support of Sawiris Foundation for Social Development. The project is designed to provide public high school students with the skills, knowledge and tools required for scholarships’ admission in high-quality university programs in Egypt and abroad.

Bridge project serves 200 Egyptian public high school students from the following governorates: (Beheira – Kafr El Shiekh – Qena – Beni Suif), including students with disabilities. Students have started their educational journey in Bridge project in October 2021 and have completed various training programs, including one-year Foundational English Program where all students have finished a sequence of 8 consecutive levels, in addition to English for Academic Purposes (EAP) training program. Students’ English language proficiency levels based on CEFR are as follows:

  • B1 (20 Students)
  • B2 (134 Students)
  • C1 (59 Students)

Consultancy Objective

This consultancy aims at preparing 200 to 215 public high school students for paper-based academic IELTS and improving their test-related skills for all sections to obtain a minimum overall band score of 6.5 and a writing score of 6 through ensuring that students gain full awareness on the test modules, understand what each module is designed to assess, understand the difference between each section of each module, and fully grasp IELTS test-taking strategies.

Scope of Work and Timeframe

The consultant will be responsible of the following tasks:

  • Design IELTS preparation course that meets the consultancy objectives and caters to students’ needs.
  • Conduct skills-based assessment before the start of the program to decide the class groupings.
  • Deliver the program sessions virtually through synchronous learning or offline and ensure classroom practice and interaction.
  • Provide students with the needed materials and resources to support their learning.
  • Track students’ progress through setting regular assignments and sharing feedback.
  • Share regular reports with Etijah on the students’ performance and areas of improvement.
  • Dedicate a main point of contact to respond to students’ inquiries during agreed office hours.
  • Conduct simulation tests with all students at the end of the program.

The preparation course is to be delivered during July 2023, and the simulation test is to take place during the first week of August 2023.

Required Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Registered companies/institutions in Egypt.
  • Relevant experience in conducting IELTS preparation courses.
  • Proven experience in managing large scale projects.
  • Capacity to provide one-to-one feedback and reports on each student.

  • Training and implementation methodology (online delivery and/or offline delivery of the program).
  • Assessment rubric.
  • Program workplan/timeline.
  • Profiles of certified instructors.
  • Samples of materials and resources.
  • Previous training experience in the subject of the TOR.
  1. Financial Offer, including:
  • A breakdown of costs PER mission.
  • Legal documents with Company Official Registration, Commercial Record and Company Tax ID (For organizations).

The offers should be stamped on each page and signed by the legal representative of the applying institution/organization. Technical and Financial offers should be submitted each in a separate close envelope and delivered to Etijah Office at: 56 El Nozha st, Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt or call: +202 24 17 7 375 Sunday to Thursday 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

Notes

  • Organizations can submit two scenarios of the program delivery method.
  • Taxes stated by law will be deducted from the total cost.
  • Only those shortlisted will be contacted for further technical agreements.
