Year of implementation: 2014-2015
In collaboration with UNFPA, this project aims to strengthen national capacities for community-based interventions in reproductive health to empower women and young people in Souhag governorate. Etijah designed a training manual to raise awareness of young people about correct behaviors related to the reproductive health issue to promote their civic engagement, namely volunteerism through working with 10 local NGOs on training their staff in order to establish volunteer units in each NGO to attract at least 20 volunteers to cascade the content of the manual to their families. Etijah was responsible for designing the reproductive health curriculum as well as the volunteerism management.
This project has the capacity to reach larger number of community members and will lay the foundation for using the methodologies and tools introduced here for future community-based projects and initiatives.
