Through this program, Etijah worked on raising the life skills of adolescents in five governorates in Upper Egypt. The project aimed to raise the awareness of young people regarding health issues and concerns through delivering counseling services to them by establishing counseling services at youth centers.

Etijah’s team was concerned with developing the counseling manual, assessing the needs of young people in the aspects of reproductive health and social life, as well as delivering training to the counselors and to volunteers who would contribute to different community based initiatives.

A number of illiterate girls and boys participated in a life skills training program prepared by Etijah.  The main focus was on the young adolescents, particularly girls, who were illiterate and out of schools aiming at providing them with better opportunities
